Solid State Survivor

Solid State State Survivor is a shmup by kt.software released in July 11 2012 as a freeware doujin game.

Gameplay Overview

The game consists of building up a combo meter that will later affect crystal items.

(Scoring and mechanics more detailed below)

Difficulties

The game has 3 difficulties:

Easy: Low bullet density. Fast bullet speed.

Normal: The base difficulty of the game. Regular bullet density. Regular bullet speed.

Hard: Suicide bullets addition. More bullet density.

Ships

Type A Shot Laser Options Speed

Type-A is the basic ship in the game. Has slow speed, decent coverage and decent focus firing. Has bomb system.


Type B Shot Laser Options Speed

Type-B moves fast, and it`s options follow it, altho they do not freeze position on focus firing. Has bomb system


Type C Shot Laser Options Speed

Type-C is a very unique ship. Instead of using a bomb system, it uses a reflector system, in which upon absorbing bullets (including the orange explosions from St5 midboss 1, and the giant blue lasers by St5 midboss 1, St5 midboss 2, St5 Boss and TLB), it will temporarily boost it`s strength, and it`s length variates on the amount of enemy attacks absorbed. Unlocked by clearing the game once.

Scoring

Scoring relies on building up the combo meter to affect the value of crystal items (obtained trough bullet cancells).

The combo meter has a primary timer on itself, and the secondary timer is the approach. If the approach gauge depletes, it will reset combo. During bosses, the way multiplier can decrease is if the player is not attacking the boss.

Items

Crystal
Increases score, with it`s value depending on the combo multiplier. Spawns from bullet cancels.
Bomb
Increases your bomb stock by 1.
1UP
Appears if the falling cube is destroyed before the Stage 5 Boss encounter. Grants an extra life.

True Last Boss / TLB

The TLB will show up if the player gets at least a 1cc on all 5 stages. After Stage 5 results end, the TLB fight will begin, and upon defeating it, the player will recieve it`s final bonus if the game is fully 1cc`d.
